Ok here is the idea, it's pretty much a tower with great wealth inside of it and if you make it to the top it is said you are granted one wish. But the setting is less important at the moment, I'm more interested in your opinions of the system I wanna use.
So I'm thinking of a text based type of idea, meaning that interactions with the room will follow commands, using the comand says your character attempts to do the action in question. And I would keep it simple as movement would be just north, south, east, west, up, and down. And then things like use, look, collect, and cast. So pretty much it helps clear up exactly what your doing from turn to turn.
Ok for characters I've come to understand simple is far more important.
Strength - Dictates your characters physical stregth and aptitude in close quarters combat.
Dexterity - Shows your characters hand eye coordination, allowing for swift attacks in-between armor and their ability to aim projectiles.
Magic - Talent with magic the higher this stat gets the easier it is to cast spells and the more spells you unlock.
Stamina - This stat dictates your characters over all health pool and how resistant the character is to take damage.
Pretty much the character for this place can fail, and lose themselves to the tower for ever. Well for a time assuming you don't pick it up with a new heroin and try to save her. That would be the thing you can fail but so long as you want to jump back to start I'll keep notes where your character was and allow you to save her.
Challenge wise, if the puzzle is a magic based one then If the challenge is difficulty of 2 and you have a magic stat of 3 then you get 3 d10 rolls, or d6. And you need to get 2 of the dice rolls above the challenge number or failure ensues. Now then the failure does not mean you take damage right away, the trap or what ever challenge is it gets a roll and it tries to damage you, if it gets a success then you take a wound, meaning your stamina lowers by one. Should it fail you get out unharmed.
That is where I stand on it at the moment, yes this is a text based game I wouldn't mind making some day. mainly I'm just curious if the system works well.
