"Kids aren't supposed to like spicy things," Kim pointed out. "They're supposed to like candy and juice and stuff like that." Since Mavis said it was fine, Kim didn't get up from his seat, but instead watched as the witch put the groceries away using magic. If you asked him, that was just lazy. Though, when he thought about it, if he'd had powers, he'd probably do the same thing. He leaned forward and crossed his arms over the table casually, looking to Braith as the young witch started speaking. She didn't seem angry about him having made up his own story, but Mavis's reaction made him realize he'd probably fucked up. And more importantly, why the hell had Braith told her what had happened between him and Morinda? It was...honestly, a bit embarrassing. But he figured he'd remedy the whole story thing first. "What? It seemed like a decent story..." He paused and looked off to the side. "Can't we just tell people I fucked up a spell or something, and lost my 'powers' temporarily? An that's why I'm here? I mean, I could just say...I dunno, I came from a primarily wizarding community or...something. Which is why I'm not used to...well...everything...around here..." The more he spoke, the more he realized how stupid a mistake he'd made. He had no knowledge of this place whatsoever. Hell, was there even such a thing as a 'wizarding community'? Would people realize that he'd been lying right off the bat if this place's boundaries were limited to the city? If this city, and the forest surrounding it, was all this world contained? Kim sighed lowly. "I fucked up, didn't I?"
