Mal smiled lightly, the womans fire something to admire...but not something he actively had himself, "I can understand your feelings but..." He frowned, "Well..." He let out a long sigh and leaned forward again, "There have been a few attempts by others of my kind...most have caused more trouble then they solved...and when all the revolutionaries were killed." He frowned, "Well those of us left had to be taught a lesson, a preemptive strike against us to ensure we never did rise again..." He smiled, a surprising emotion based on what they were speaking of, "I'm sure you noticed the scars I bare, a reminder of those days...and those lost." He frowned lightly, becoming more serious, "Besides, why risk the lives of all for what only a few cannot endure?" A question, and series of answers that hinted at something more to his past, but in the same breath he moved on, "Those days...are gone anyway, and I have the time to spare...things will change, they always do with time." He finished with a light smile.

"You know..." He smiled more warmly, "This is getting a little depressing isn't it? Perhaps we should move onto something else for the time being...curious about anything else?"
