Mal listened carefully, but went on eating as she began...after all he was reasonably sure what she was going to say anyway. Of course what she did say was so far away from what he expected that she was either utterly insane...or telling the truth. Her explanation was actually wild enough to stop him half way through taking a bit, leaving his mouth half open and meat tipped fork hovering just outside his lips. While such a reaction was likely not surprising to the woman, it would be to most anyone knowledgeable about his kind. For as a part of their ancestry, Mountain Drakes were notoriously controlled, even in the face of danger they were normally confident and calm due to a rather interesting balance of certain proteins in their body being lopsided compared to most species.

He held this position for a moment, his eyes examining the woman carefully, his senses working in unison in hopes of determining whether she was lying or not. Of course even without the tell tale signs of lying, small facial twitches, sweating, restlessness and even trigger words like 'um' it wasn't entirely possible to decide. If she was insane for instance, she would believe her story and in essence would be telling the truth...and as far as he could tell she was speaking exactly that. Convinced for the moment he finished his bite and broke his stare in order to resume eating and began speaking...at first more for his own sake. "So your kind..." He mulled the word over slightly like he was dissecting it in his mind, "Nephalem, are the product of these demons and celestials?" He nodded slightly, his words revealing that not only had this world had little to do with these two races, but he had never even heard of them. "And you aren't from this planet..." He raised his eyes up to meet hers again for a moment as if to make sure her conviction hadn't faltered, then in a rather simple response he want back to eating and simply finished with "Hm!" He took another bite and nodded, "This is very good Ryala...will you tell me more? Or are you not ready for such detail yet?" Possibly a surprising response to telling someone that you were an alien but his response nonetheless.
